About Survival Kits With Kids
Who we are
We are a father-and-son team who turn time outdoors into fictional survival missions. We hike, explore unusual places, test practical gear, and film stories set in an imaginary post-apocalyptic world.
The project began as a way to make ordinary walks feel exciting. During the 2020 lockdown on the Greek island of Zakynthos, empty streets and abandoned places became the setting for our first zombie adventure. Filming gave us a shared mission outside, while editing gave us another creative project when we came home.
Why adventure works for us
Modern games and videos are designed to hold a child’s attention. Simply saying that nature is good for you is not always enough to compete. We found that storytelling changes the invitation: a hike becomes a mission, a strange path becomes a clue, and learning a practical skill becomes part of the plot.
We are not trying to pretend the digital world does not exist. We use it as a reason to get outside, create something together, and build confidence through real experiences.
Who this is for
This project is for parents who want to spend more purposeful time outdoors with their kids. You do not need to be a survival expert or plan an extreme expedition. A local trail, a backpack, and a simple story can be enough to begin.
The show
Our videos follow two survivors through imagined emergencies and strange encounters. The danger is fictional, but the locations, weather, effort, equipment, and lessons are real. We want the stories to be entertaining while making preparedness feel practical rather than frightening.
You can watch the show, read our adventure stories, or explore the gear we use.
